Is "building for Africa" becoming a trap?

Build for the local market and you may struggle to monetize.

Build for the global market and suddenly you have a much bigger opportunity, but reaching that audience from Africa is another problem.

Even open source isn't as common and successful here in Africa. Not necessarily because Africans can't build, but because projects often struggle to get adopted, find the right audience, or gain enough visibility.

And I don't think it's a talent problem.

Survival puts pressure on us all to turn our time into income.

We're building, but we're also trying to eat and survive.

Maybe the real challenge isn't talent.

It's building for a market that can pay, while figuring out how to get that market to notice you and understand your value.
